# Zendesk

Manage tickets, users, and organizations in Zendesk.

## What it does

Connects an agent to Zendesk. Agents can list and search tickets, create and update a ticket, and list users.

## Setup

1. In Zendesk Admin Center, go to **Apps and integrations → APIs → OAuth Clients → Add OAuth client**. Set the client kind to Confidential and the grant type to Authorization code.
2. Add the redirect URL HeartBeatAgents shows you under Redirect URLs, then save and copy the Client ID and Secret (Zendesk shows the secret only once).
3. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Zendesk**, enter the Client ID, Secret, and your Zendesk subdomain, then click **Connect** and authorize.
4. Assign the connection to an agent.

Zendesk is retiring API tokens as a way to connect, so token-based setup is no longer available; this OAuth flow is now the only way to connect Zendesk.

## Scopes requested

tickets:read, tickets:write, and users:read.

## Credentials needed

An OAuth client (Client ID and Secret) from your own Zendesk Admin Center, and your Zendesk subdomain. The credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that triages incoming tickets and drafts a first reply, or one that searches past tickets for how a similar issue was resolved before.
