# WhatsApp Business

Send messages, manage templates, and access analytics via the WhatsApp Business Cloud API.

## What it does

Connects an agent to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API as an outbound messaging tool. Agents can send a message or a pre-approved template, manage media, list templates, check your business profile and phone numbers, and pull analytics. This is distinct from WhatsApp as a live [channel](/en/docs/features/channels): this integration is an action an agent can take, not an inbound conversation it holds.

## Setup

1. Set up a WhatsApp Business API account via Meta for Developers.
2. Go to **Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp Business** and enter your access token, phone number ID, and business account ID.
3. Assign the connection to an agent.

## Credentials needed

A Meta access token, phone number ID, and business account ID. The access token is encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that sends an order-status update using a pre-approved message template, or one that checks messaging analytics when you ask how a campaign performed.
