# Slack

Deploy an agent as a Slack workspace member: channel monitoring, threaded replies, DMs, and slash commands.

## What it does

Connects an agent to a Slack workspace as a team member. The agent can monitor designated channels, respond in threads, handle direct messages, and support slash commands. See [Channels](/en/docs/features/channels) for how this fits into the platform's broader multi-channel model.

## Setup

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Channels → Slack**.
2. Click **Connect** and complete the OAuth 2.0 + PKCE authorization flow in your Slack workspace.
3. Choose which channels the agent should monitor.
4. Assign one or more agents to the connection.

Setup typically takes under two minutes. No bot tokens to copy manually, no webhook configuration.

## Scopes requested

Slack integration requests the minimum scopes needed for the features you enable: channel read/post, thread replies, and (if enabled) slash command registration. Credentials are encrypted at rest and never exposed to the agent's own context. See [Security](/en/docs/features/security).

## Typical use

Internal operations: IT help desk, knowledge base Q&A, sales enablement, DevOps alerting and triage.
