# Home Assistant

Control smart home devices via Home Assistant.

## What it does

Connects an agent to your own Home Assistant instance. Agents can list entities, check an entity's current state, call a Home Assistant service, and toggle an entity on or off.

## Setup

1. Generate a long-lived access token from your Home Assistant user profile.
2. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Home Assistant** and enter your instance's base URL and the token.
3. Assign the connection to an agent.

## Credentials needed

Your Home Assistant base URL and a long-lived access token. The token is encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that turns off a light you forgot, or one that checks a sensor's current reading when you ask about conditions at home.
