# HeartBeatAgents

Connect to another HeartBeatAgents instance so one agent can invoke another.

## What it does

Connects an agent to another HeartBeatAgents instance (or another agent on the same instance) as a teammate. This is the connection [delegation](/en/docs/features/delegation) is built on: it's what lets `delegate` and `find_agents` hand a subtask to that teammate and get its result back.

## Setup

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → HeartBeatAgents**.
2. Enter the teammate agent's invoke endpoint URL and its API key, plus a label to identify it.
3. Assign the connection to the agent that should be able to delegate to this teammate.

## Credentials needed

The teammate's invoke URL and an API key generated from that agent's own settings page. The key is encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that delegates a specialized subtask, like drafting a legal-style summary, to a teammate agent built specifically for that job, then folds the result back into its own answer.
