# Google Maps

Geocoding, directions, distance matrix, places search, elevation, time zones, and map imagery.

## What it does

Connects an agent to the Google Maps Platform. Agents can geocode an address, get directions and distances between points, search nearby places and pull place details, check elevation and time zone, and generate a static map image or street view.

## Setup

1. Get an API key from the Google Cloud Console with the Maps Platform APIs enabled.
2. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Google Maps** and paste in the key.
3. Assign the connection to an agent.

## Credentials needed

A Google Maps Platform API key. It's encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that calculates travel time between two addresses before scheduling a meeting, or one that finds nearby options when you ask for a recommendation near a specific place.
