# Alpha Vantage

Access real-time and historical stock prices, forex rates, cryptocurrency data, technical indicators, and fundamental financial data for global markets.

## What it does

Connects an agent to Alpha Vantage. Agents can pull a stock quote, a historical time series, forex rates, cryptocurrency data, technical indicators, and company fundamentals.

## Setup

1. Get a free API key from Alpha Vantage's own site.
2. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Alpha Vantage** and paste in the key.
3. Assign the connection to an agent.

## Credentials needed

An Alpha Vantage API key. It's encrypted at rest and never shown again after saving.

## Typical use

An agent that checks a stock's current price and recent trend before answering a question about it, or one that pulls a company's fundamentals as part of a research summary.
